Vodacom Bulls Rugby came one win short of a United Rugby Championship title last season. Their next attempt begins in Italy against a Zebre Parma team looking to turn the page after a difficult finish to 2025-26.
The Bulls finished fourth in the regular-season standings before advancing all the way to the Grand Final, where Leinster ended their eight-match URC winning streak with a 36-7 victory. Zebre's season went in the opposite direction. After opening with back-to-back wins, Zebre lost their final 16 URC matches and finished 16th.
History also favors the visitors. The Bulls have won all five previous URC meetings with Zebre and have won their opening league match in each of the past four seasons. But Round 1 brings a milestone for the hosts, with Leonard Krumov set to make his 150th Zebre appearance, while Sebastian de Klerk returns to the Bulls starting XV after nearly 18 months sidelined by injury.
