Ulster Rugby came painfully close to the United Rugby Championship playoffs last season. Now, the road back starts at home against an Edinburgh Rugby side bringing plenty of new faces to Belfast.
Ulster finished ninth in the 2025-26 URC standings, just two points behind Connacht for the final playoff spot. Edinburgh finished 12th with seven wins, but recent history between these clubs has produced some dramatic swings. Ulster won the most recent meeting 40-19 in March after Edinburgh rolled to a 47-17 victory in the previous matchup.

Michael Lowry captains Ulster from fullback, with Robert Baloucoune starting on the wing. Edinburgh will debut four summer additions in its starting XV: Alec Hepburn, James Grayson, Kienan Higgins and Geordie Gwynn. Magnus Bradbury and Matt Currie serve as Edinburgh's co-captains.
