Lyon opened its season with a 40-36 victory over Clermont, surviving a furious late comeback after leading 37-10. Gabin Lorre scored two tries in the victory and returns at fullback for Round 2. Racing 92, meanwhile, is looking for an immediate response after suffering a 64-5 loss to Union Bordeaux-Bègles in its season opener. Bordeaux scored 10 tries and led 38-0 at halftime.

There are major changes for both clubs heading into Saturday. Lyon welcomes back scrum-half Baptiste Couilloud, while Samuel Simmonds and Jiuta Wainiqolo also enter the Starting XV. Racing's lineup includes Paul Costes at outside center and Serupepeli Uru in the back row as the club prepares for its first home match of the season.
