Stade Francais enters 2026-27 trying to prove its remarkable turnaround has staying power. Paris went from 12th place in 2024-25 to third in the Top 14 regular season and a semifinal appearance last season.
The challenge now is turning one breakthrough campaign into something sustainable while returning to the Champions Cup and replacing several important departures.

Can Stade Français Turn A Playoff Breakthrough Into A Title Push?
Stade Français finished with 79 points and a 15-10-1 record before demolishing La Rochelle 45-5 in the barrage. Montpellier ended the run 25-15 in the semifinal.
That established Paris as a legitimate playoff team but not yet a proven championship favorite.
The most intriguing number entering 2026-27 is 4-9, Stade Français' road record last season. Paris was 11-1-1 at Jean-Bouin. Becoming more consistent away from home could determine whether this remains a strong playoff side or becomes something more.

Stade Français Has A Pack — And An Attack To Match It
Paul Gustard's team can make matches uncomfortable through its scrum, lineout, collision work and breakdown pressure. But Stade Français was hardly one-dimensional last season.
Paris scored 869 points and 113 tries, finishing second in the championship in points scored. Louis Carbonel supplied 288 points, Léo Barré scored 12 tries and Peniasi Dakuwaqa added 10.
That combination makes Stade Français fascinating: The forwards can establish control, Carbonel can punish opponents from the tee and Paris has enough finishing ability outside to exploit defenses that become too preoccupied with the pack.
Can Alivereti Duguivalu And Paris Replace Joe Marchant?
The offseason was about targeted reinforcement rather than transformation.
The biggest backline question is replacing Joe Marchant, who left after 73 Stade Français appearances. Alivereti Duguivalu arrives from Perpignan with more than 100 professional appearances and the ability to play center or wing.
There is also opportunity for Noah Nene. The young center earned meaningful responsibility late last season, including a start in the 45-5 playoff victory over La Rochelle.
If Duguivalu settles quickly and Nene continues developing, a significant departure could instead produce one of Paris' most interesting position battles.
