Aviron Bayonnais and RC Toulon begin the 2026-27 Top 14 season on Sept. 5 at Stade Jean-Dauger with both clubs looking to rebound after missing the playoffs last season.
Bayonne finished 12th in 2025-26 with an 11-15 record, one season after finishing fourth and reaching the Top 14 semifinals. Bayonne's attack produced 94 tries last season, but the club conceded 113 tries and 869 points. Toulon finished ninth with a 12-13-1 record, also missing the playoffs after allowing 820 points.

Both clubs added significant talent during the offseason. Bayonne brought in Léo Coly, Killian Géraci, Rob du Preez and Madosh Tambwe, while Toulon added Gaël Fickou, Huw Jones, Rabah Slimani and Judicaël Cancoriet.
Several of those additions are already in the Round 1 lineups, including Coly, Géraci, du Preez and Tambwe for Bayonne and Fickou and Cancoriet for Toulon.
