For 40 minutes, it looked like Exeter Chiefs' season was over.
Bath Rugby, the defending Gallagher PREM Champion, stormed into a commanding halftime lead in Saturday's Gallagher PREM Rugby semifinal, scoring four tries and appearing firmly in control of a place in the final. Exeter faced a 16-point deficit and had shown few signs of slowing down one of the league's most dangerous attacking teams.

What followed may go down as one of the most remarkable playoff comebacks in recent Premiership history.
The Chiefs produced a stunning second-half turnaround, shutting out Bath after the break and scoring three unanswered tries to claim a dramatic 27-26 victory.
When the final whistle sounded, Exeter had secured a return to the Gallagher PREM Rugby Final and kept alive its pursuit of a first Premiership title since 2020.

Bath Rugby Takes Control Early
The opening half belonged almost entirely to Bath.
The visitors built momentum through their powerful forward pack and clinical finishing, crossing for tries through Beno Obano, Thomas du Toit, Joe Cokanasiga and Henry Arundell.
By halftime, Bath held a 26-10 advantage and appeared on course for another final appearance.
Exeter struggled to establish field position and found themselves chasing the game against a side that had spent much of the season among the Premiership's elite.
Yet despite the scoreboard, the Chiefs remained within striking distance.
Chiefs Find Another Gear
Whatever was said in the Exeter dressing room during the interval worked.
The Chiefs emerged with renewed energy and quickly began applying pressure.
Their replacements made an immediate impact, helping Exeter gain parity up front and generate the quick ball that had been missing during the first half.
As Bath's momentum faded, Exeter's belief grew. Ben Hammersley helped spark the comeback before Greg Fisilau and Ethan Burger added crucial scores as the deficit disappeared.
Just as importantly, Exeter's defense tightened dramatically. After conceding four first-half tries, the Chiefs held Bath scoreless throughout the entire second half.
The result transformed a one-sided semifinal into an unforgettable playoff battle.
One More Challenge Awaits For Exeter Chiefs
Standing between Exeter and the trophy is Northampton Saints.
Saints advanced to the final after a thrilling 45-31 victory over Leicester Tigers in the other semifinal, setting up a fascinating clash between one of the Premiership's most explosive attacking teams and a Chiefs side that has built its playoff run on grit and determination.
Northampton may enter the final with momentum after scoring six tries against Leicester.
Exeter, however, arrives carrying something equally valuable: the confidence that comes from surviving when elimination seemed inevitable.
If the Chiefs complete one more upset, their comeback against Bath will be remembered not just as a great semifinal victory, but as the turning point that led them all the way to the Gallagher PREM Rugby title.
