Thomas du Toit Arrives In Red-Hot Form
Bath will also enter the semifinal with one of the league's most in-form forwards.
Prop Thomas du Toit, possibly playing his last games for Bath as he is returning to South Africa next season to play for the Hollywoodbets Sharks, delivered a remarkable performance in Bath's most recent match, scoring three tries while also contributing 14 tackles. Performances of that nature are rare from front-row players and highlight the impact he can have on both sides of the ball.
Du Toit's ability to contribute in attack while maintaining his responsibilities in the set piece provides Bath with an additional weapon heading into the playoffs.
If he can replicate anything close to that performance, he could become one of the most influential players in the match.
Exeter's Strength Is Relentless Work Rate
While Bath thrives on territory, Exeter's success has been built on volume.
The Chiefs lead the Premiership with 5,613 total ruck entries this season and have accumulated 2,361 carries, the third-highest total in the league. Those numbers reflect a team that is willing to work through countless phases in search of opportunities.
Rather than relying solely on explosive attacking moments, Exeter often succeeds by maintaining possession, applying pressure and forcing opponents to repeatedly defend.
That style requires fitness, discipline and patience, all of which have helped carry the Chiefs into the semifinals.
Stephen Varney Controls The Kicking Game
The engine behind much of Exeter's territorial strategy is scrum-half Stephen Varney.
Varney leads the Premiership with 246 kicks in play and also tops the league with 59 retained kicks. His influence has helped Exeter achieve a retained-kick rate of 20.9%, the second-best mark in the competition.
Effective kicking can dramatically alter field position and force opponents into mistakes. Varney's ability to consistently execute that aspect of the game has become one of Exeter's defining strengths.
Against a Bath side that wants to spend time inside the opposition 22, controlling territory through kicking could become a major factor.
The Battle At The Set Piece
Exeter also brings a significant threat at the lineout.
Andrea Zambonin leads the Premiership with 11 lineout steals and produced two steals during Exeter's most recent meeting with Bath. Those disruptions can quickly halt attacking momentum and create valuable possession.
Bath, meanwhile, will look to counter through the physicality of players such as Sam Underhill, who ranks second in the league with 19 dominant tackle contacts. Underhill's impact was evident in the previous meeting between the clubs when he made 18 tackles at a 94.74% success rate.
The clash between Exeter's lineout pressure and Bath's defensive physicality could prove decisive.

Bath enters with the league's best territorial numbers and a team built to capitalize on opportunities inside the opposition 22. Exeter counters with the Premiership's highest ruck-entry total, a dominant kicking game and a willingness to grind opponents down through repeated phases.
