Glasgow Warriors vs. Leinster Highlights: URC Round 135:24

The United Rugby Championship semifinals feature four deserving contenders, each with a different path to the final four. Glasgow Warriors, Leinster Rugby, the DHL Stormers and the Vodacom Bulls all enter the weekend believing they can lift the trophy.

Some teams arrive with momentum. Others lean on home advantage, playoff experience or star players. Statistics cannot predict who will reach the final, but they can help explain why each club remains alive in the championship race.

The semifinalists finished as the top four teams in the regular-season standings and all delivered convincing quarterfinal victories. While their strengths differ, each side possesses numbers that support its title ambitions.

Before the action begins in Edinburgh and Dublin, here is the statistical argument for all four remaining contenders.

Glasgow Warriors: The Top Seed

Glasgow finished first in the standings with 65 points and secured home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

The Warriors won 13 of 18 regular-season matches and posted a positive points differential of 141. They also defeated Connacht 33-21 in the quarterfinals.

George Horne led the team with 76 points while Gregor Hiddleston and Jamie Dobie each scored seven tries.

Glasgow's strongest argument may be simple: the road to the title runs through Scotland.

Leinster Rugby: The Home Dominators

Leinster finished second with 63 points and produced one of the most dominant quarterfinal performances in league history by defeating the Lions 59-10.

The Irish province owns the highest all-time URC winning percentage among semifinalists at 71.68%.

Leinster has also won all seven URC matches against South African opposition at Aviva Stadium.

Their combination of home advantage and postseason experience makes them a serious title threat.

DHL Stormers: The Explosive Attack

Even without injured star Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu, the Stormers remain one of the most dangerous attacking teams left in the tournament.

Evan Roos finished the regular season as the URC's leading try scorer with 12, while Jurie Matthee accumulated 86 points and now assumes greater importance heading into the semifinals.

The Stormers scored 44 points in their quarterfinal victory over Cardiff Rugby and have demonstrated an ability to overwhelm opponents when their attack finds rhythm.

Their challenge entering Dublin is replacing the production of the league's leading scorer while maintaining the attacking identity that carried them into the final four.

Vodacom Bulls: The Form Team

The Bulls enter the semifinals riding a six-match winning streak.

They defeated Munster 45-14 in the quarterfinals and feature two of the league's most productive players in Handré Pollard and Embrose Papier.

Pollard scored 120 points during the season, while Papier crossed for 11 tries.

The Bulls also boast a perfect record in URC semifinals, having won all previous appearances at this stage.

Four Different Paths, One Goal

Each semifinalist brings a unique strength to the playoffs.

Glasgow has the top seed. Leinster has the dominant home record. The Stormers possess elite attacking talent. The Bulls arrive as the hottest team in the competition.

Statistics can identify strengths and trends, but they cannot decide championships.

That task now belongs to the players over the next two weekends.
