Scott Sio is approaching the final weeks of his Exeter Chiefs career with everything still to play for.
The veteran prop will leave Sandy Park this summer after four seasons with the Gallagher PREM club, but before he heads to Cardiff Rugby, Sio has one final mission: helping Exeter return to the Playoffs for the first time since 2021.
With Chiefs preparing for a season-defining showdown against Leicester Tigers at Mattioli Woods Welford Road on Sunday, the former Wallaby said the opportunity to deliver meaningful rugby back to Devon is driving him through the closing chapter of his time in England.

Chiefs head into the weekend knowing they face one of the toughest assignments in the league. Leicester remain unbeaten at home this season and are among the form teams in the competition under Geoff Parling, making Sunday’s clash critical in the race for the coveted top-four spots.
Scott Sio Arrived In Exeter After Playing For Brumbies
For Sio, the occasion is about more than standings. Since arriving from the Brumbies in 2022, the 34-year-old has become a fan favorite while building a strong connection with the Devon community.
“I came over with an open mind to improve as a player and a person, something I definitely feel that I've done, in an environment where I can express myself,” Sio told the Gallagher PREM website.
“There’s been so many blessings over my time in Exeter, and I'm very fortunate that I rubbed shoulders with a lot of the guys that made this club great.”
Sio said the possibility of reaching the Playoffs for the first time in his PREM career has added extra motivation during his final weeks with the club.
“This season could conclude with my first Playoff campaign in the Prem, and I am playing for our fans,” Sio told the Gallagher PREM website.
“This is Devon's team, and seeing how much they support you as a person has been incredible.”
For Scott Sio, Time With Exeter Chiefs Is Special
The loosehead also reflected on life away from rugby after becoming a father to 13-month-old Tavita and getting engaged to his fiancée, Nara, during his time in Exeter. While Sio still hopes to represent Samoa at the 2027 Rugby World Cup, he admitted coaching could become part of his future after working with local club Topsham RFC last season.
Before then, though, his focus remains firmly on Leicester.
“There’s no tougher away trip in the PREM right now,” Sio told the Gallagher PREM website.
“They've built great momentum, are very sure of their identity and sure of how they want to play under Geoff Parling.
“We're playing four grand finals in a row now. Our defeat to Quins was a good refresh for us and has allowed us to attack Leicester this weekend.”
