The most prestigious rugby tournament in the world has reached its knockout stage, and teams from across Europe and South Africa are eyeing a European championship in the Investec Champions Cup.
In the field are familiar names like Toulouse and Leinster, while other clubs, including the Glasgow Warriors and DHL Stormers, enter the knockout stage with legitimate hopes to win the Champions Cup.
Defending champion Union Bordeaux-Bègles owns the top seed through the semifinals and is seeking a return to the ICC Final, which will be held in Bilbao, Spain.

Each domestic league feels as though it has a true contender for the Cup.
While the URC has Leinster and Glasgow with strong odds, and the Top 14 has Toulouse and UBB, the Gallagher PREM features last year’s runners-up, Northampton Saints, and a star-studded Bath Rugby squad.
The Round of 16 features eight intriguing matchups that may have a heavy impact on the competition.
Here are five matches Investec Champions Cup fans can’t miss:
RC Toulon vs. DHL Stormers 10 a.m. ET, April 4 — Stade Félix Mayol
The FloRugby Match of the Week in the Round of 16, Toulon is just 9-1-10 in the Top 14 and on the verge of missing next year’s Champions Cup at No. 11 on the domestic table. But Toulon is one of the toughest places to play in club rugby, and the French side went 3-0-1 in pool play.
The DHL Stormers also went 3-0-1 in pool play but hit a rough patch in late December and early January. The Stormers have righted the ship and reeled off four straight wins, including a North-South Derby victory — but all have come in South Africa.
The last time the Stormers were in Europe, they lost 61-10 to Harlequins on Jan. 11. They have gone 2-0-0 against Top 14 clubs so far.
This will be a match to watch for the lineup intrigue alone.
Toulon secured a home match in the knockout stage and could be putting all the proverbial eggs in the ICC basket. But the Stormers may be prioritizing the URC, where they are 11-0-3 and No. 2 on the table.
Glasgow Warriors vs. Vodacom Bulls 12:30 p.m. ET, April 4 — Scotstoun Stadium
Two of the hottest clubs in rugby are the Warriors and the Bulls.
The Bulls have climbed to eighth in the URC standings after a rough fall slate, going 7-2 in 2026 with wins over Pau in France, Edinburgh in Scotland and a 40-7 win in Cardiff, Wales.
Meanwhile, the Warriors are the top team in the URC with an 11-0-3 record and 55 points. The Warriors are the No. 2 seed in the tournament and will play all their knockout matches in Scotland — where they rarely lose — until the Final.
This is the second time the Bulls have traveled to Glasgow this season, having lost 21-12 to the Warriors in October.
Bath Rugby vs. Saracens 10 a.m. ET, April 4 — The Rec
A few weeks ago, Bath beat Saracens 62-15 at home in Gallagher PREM play. Bath fielded its top team, while Saracens did not. Perhaps Saracens — which has a win over Toulouse in ICC pool play — was holding back.
But, 62 is quite a number. Expect a closer match this time between the two English clubs.
Toulouse vs. Bristol Bears 12:30 p.m. ET, April 4 — Stadium de Toulouse
Bristol went 3-0-1 in pool play, with its only loss coming to UBB.
The Bears returned from the Gallagher PREM hiatus with two losses — to Harlequins and Leicester — and are looking to get back on track in the Champions Cup. They have fallen out of the top 4 in the PREM standings with an 8-0-4 record and 38 points.
They now face a club that, despite going 2-0-2 in pool play, remains the favorite to win the Champions Cup — Toulouse — and they’ll do it in France.
The Bears have the talent to beat any club in the world and played in the most difficult ICC pool. Toulouse, however, should have its Six Nations internationals back in full force for this match as it seeks its seventh European title.
Harlequins vs. Sale Sharks 3 p.m. ET, April 4 — Twickenham Stoop
One of the most baffling European clubs this season has been the Harlequins, who are 3-0-9 in Gallagher PREM play but clinched an ICC knockout spot after Round 3 of pool play.
They dropped 61 points on the Stormers at Twickenham Stoop after scoring 68 points on Bayonne in Round 2.
They now face the Sale Sharks, who beat the Harlequins 43-17 in December and also beat Clermont in France 35-14. These two clubs have matching 3-0-9 PREM records, but Sale has seven more points.
The big question: can Harlequins keep the ICC magic going?
