France Claims Back-To-Back Six Nations Titles With Win Over England, 48-46

Rugby Round Up Six Nations Round Four Preview

The 2026 Guinness Six Nations is concluded, and in a match that came down to the final minutes, France came away victorious over England.

France secured back-to-back Six Nations title after a thrilling 48-46 victory over England. In a win that came down to the final minutes and one last penalty goal, this match will go down in the records books. 

France struck first in the contest against England, putting up the first try in just six minutes of play. However, the shutout did not last long, as England responded three minutes later with a try of its own. 

The match continued to be a back-and-forth one, until England found its stride and, at one point, held a 10-point differential over the French team. 

Heading in to the halftime, it looked as though England had it in the bag. However, a late yellow card awarded France a penalty try to make it a three-point game. 

The second half of full-time was just as action-packed. 

The French came out with everything they had and managed two quick tries. The competition was not going away without a fight though as the English squad put themselves back in the race and on top in the 56th minute. 

With a lot of back-and-forth action in the second half, at the end of the day, a crucial penalty goal for France secured the victory and back-to-back Six Nations titles.
