Glasgow Warriors remain No. 1 in FloRugby’s Professional Club Power Rankings, holding firm on 1676 points after a weekend that delivered drama in France and Japan but saw no movement from the United Rugby Championship or Gallagher Premiership.

With both the URC and Premiership paused due to the international window, their clubs stood pat in the global ladder. That stability at the summit allowed attention to shift to the Top 14 and Japan Rugby League One, where several heavyweights made statements.

Toulouse climbed to sixth on 1619 points after grinding out a 13 - 9 win over Stade Francais, while Montpellier surged to seventh at 1592 following an impressive 43 - 33 victory at La Rochelle. Bordeaux Bègles remain entrenched inside the top 10 at 1572 after overpowering Castres 57 - 32.

In Japan Rugby League One Round Eight, Kobelco Kobe Steelers delivered the headline result, edging defending champions Toshiba Brave Lupus Tokyo 34 - 33 in a pulsating clash. Kobe built a 20 - 0 cushion before surviving a late surge that ended with Richie Mo’unga missing a conversion that would have sealed the comeback. The win lifts Kobe to 1552 points, level with Brave Lupus and Racing 92 in a tightly packed mid table cluster.

Kubota Spears tightened the Division One race with a commanding 42 - 19 victory over Shizuoka BlueRevs. The Spears now sit on 1551 points, just behind unbeaten Saitama Wild Knights, who held off Toyota Verblitz 26 - 20 but missed out on a bonus point that could prove valuable later in the season.

Elsewhere, BlackRams Tokyo overwhelmed Yokohama Canon Eagles 53 - 31, while Tokyo Sungoliath strengthened their top six push with a 41 - 19 win against Urayasu D Rocks.

The rankings continue to reflect a composite rating model built around match results, opponent strength and competition weighting. Elite European competitions and top tier domestic leagues carry greater influence, while cross league normalization ensures fair comparison. Margin of victory matters, but sustained performance across multiple fixtures remains the primary driver.

Notably, Super Rugby Pacific has not yet been included. With only one round completed, there is insufficient data to accurately position those teams within the global framework. They will be integrated beginning next week once each side has played at least two matches, allowing for a more reliable baseline.

For now, Europe and Japan set the pace. As domestic leagues resume and Super Rugby Pacific joins the ecosystem, expect volatility beneath Glasgow’s grip at the top.
