The Gallagher PREM Rugby season will begin its winter break this week with the Northampton Saints in control of the No. 1 spot in the standings with an 8-1-1 record and 43 match points. On their heels is the defending champion, Bath Rugby, sitting at 8-0-2 with 41 points.

With the combination of the Six Nations competition and the PREM Cup, the Gallagher PREM season goes on hiatus until March 20 — nearly two months.
Clubs will resume their road to the playoffs with two matches before another pause for the Round of 16 in both the EPCR Challenge Cup and the Investec Champions Cup.
After the Round of 16, it’s a sprint to June.
The top four clubs will qualify for the playoffs, and the gap between the No. 3 team in the standings, Bristol Bears, and the No. 6 seed, Saracens, is just five match points.
