That versatility has quickly translated at the highest level. 

After switching from the NRL, Sua’ali’i’s transition to rugby union was marked by an immediate impact for the Wallabies, highlighted by a dominant debut at Twickenham. His ability to break the line, create space for teammates and adapt across the back line shapes how the Waratahs’ roster functions around him.

Heading into 2026, the Waratahs’ roster remains under the guidance of head coach Dan McKellar, with Jake Gordon captaining the side. 

Based in Sydney at Allianz Stadium, the squad construction reflects a team built to support and maximize the influence of a generational talent, while balancing experience and youth across the lineup.
