Edinburgh opened its Champions Cup campaign with one of the most eye-catching results of Round 1, stunning Toulon 33-20 at Hive Stadium. Since then, momentum has been difficult to sustain. 

Edinburgh dropped a 33-0 decision at Castres in Round 2 and followed that with back-to-back losses to the Glasgow Warriors in United Rugby Championship play, scoring just 15 points across that three-game stretch. 

The club halted the slide in URC Round 9 with a 15-14 win over Benetton in Italy, offering a timely boost before returning to European action.

Gloucester arrives searching for form after a strong Champions Cup start. 

The English side has not won since defeating Castres at home in Round 1, falling 31-3 to Munster in Round 2, before dropping three consecutive Gallagher PREM Rugby matches. That run includes a 25-19 loss at Newcastle Red Bulls last weekend. 

Gloucester has held the edge in recent meetings with Edinburgh, winning the last two encounters between the clubs in the Challenge Cup over the past two seasons, adding further intrigue to this Pool 2 clash.
