England vs. All Blacks 2025: Can England End Their Six-Year Drought?
England vs. All Blacks 2025: Can England End Their Six-Year Drought?
England faces the All Blacks Nov. 15 at 10:10 AM ET in Week 3 of the 2025 Autumn Nations Series, aiming to end a six-year winless streak to New Zealand.

England’s rise under Steve Borthwick faces its biggest test yet — a showdown with the world’s No. 2-ranked All Blacks.
Entering Week 3 of the 2025 Autumn Nations Series on a 10-match winning streak, No. 4 England is brimming with confidence after a commanding 38-18 win over Fiji.
New Zealand, meanwhile, comes in off a 25-17 victory over Scotland — a match that showed both brilliance and vulnerability.
The pair meetup Saturday, Nov. 8 at Twickenham. As action kicks off at 10:10 a.m. ET.

Many still see the All Blacks as favorites, but England’s blend of discipline, form and home-field advantage at Twickenham suggests this contest may be far closer than the rankings imply.
England vs All Blacks: Defense and Discipline Could Shift the Balance
England’s performance against Fiji highlighted a growing maturity. Despite sharing four line breaks apiece, England’s ability to turn 63% territory into six tries showed the kind of composure that could unsettle even the All Blacks. Their 90% tackle success rate — led by Fin Smith and Ollie Lawrence — reinforced a defense built on structure and trust.
New Zealand, by contrast, allowed Scotland to erase a 17-point deficit before regaining control. While the All Blacks’ power remains unquestionable, lapses in discipline — three yellow cards and nine penalties — could prove costly against a composed English side. England’s dominance in set pieces versus Fiji (100% lineout and scrum success) will be key in neutralizing New Zealand’s fast starts.
England Building Momentum Ahead of New Zealand Clash
England hasn’t beaten the All Blacks since their famous 19-7 semifinal triumph at the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan. Those memories will fuel England’s belief that victory is possible, even against the game’s most iconic side.
This England team has evolved. Borthwick’s men now know how to close out matches — something New Zealand struggled to do recently in their heavy 43-10 loss to South Africa.
Even with Tommy Freeman and Ollie Chessum sidelined, the squad’s balance remains intact. Ben Earl’s relentless carrying (15 carries vs Fiji), and Immanuel Feyi-Waboso’s finishing power can challenge any defense.
England vs New Zealand Prediction: Can England End The Drought?
England may enter as underdogs, but their recent form suggests they have the tools to push the All Blacks to the limit.
Expect New Zealand to start strong, as they did against Scotland, but England’s defensive structure and game management could see them stay within striking distance deep into the second half.
If England controls territory and continues their disciplined play, Twickenham could witness something special — a first win over the All Blacks in six years.
