The 2025-2026 Investec Champions Cup begins Dec. 5, and we're just 11 days away from the Sale Sharks hosting the Glasgow Warriors at 3 p.m. ET at CorpAcq Stadium.

The Investec Champions Cup will determine the best team in Europe (and South Africa), as every contender aims to take the title from defending champion Union Bordeaux-Bègles of the Top 14.

But like in the film "The Highlander," there can only be one winner. 

Every club will enter the competition believing it can lift the trophy on May 23, 2026, at San Mamés Stadium in Bilbao, Spain.

And that includes the Sale Sharks of the Gallagher PREM. 

Here are three reasons why the Sale Sharks can win the 2025-2026 Investec Champions Cup:

Twins, Rugby Fans, Twins

For a club named after one of the most famous loner animals in the world, Sale has not one, but two sets of twins on the roster. 

The Curry brothers, Tom and Ben, signed long-term deals with Sale this spring, while the Du Preez Boys, Jean-Luc and Dan (seriously, one brother is Jean-Luc and the other is just "Dan" lol. yep) are signed till the end of this season. 

Tom Curry is the No. 20-ranked player in the world according to us, FloRugby. 

The 27-year-old has 60-plus caps for England. His brother has 10-plus caps. They have been on Sale since 2016! 

Jean-Luc and Dan, 30, are from South Africa, and both have multiple Springboks caps.

George Ford Will Keep The Sharks Well Caffeinated

English Rugby star George Ford, 32, made his name with Leicester, where he led the Tigers to the Gallagher PREM title in 2023, and then weeks after that win, he signed with Sale. 

But on top of being one of the best English rugby players over the last decade plus, he also owns Kobe Coffee in Uppermill, Saddleworth, England. He and his brother opened it in 2019. 

The coffee shop serves breakfast and brunch and is open everyday at 9 a.m. local time. 

A surprising lack of rugby-pun meals are on the menu, but the Kobe Breakfast, which is very much a full English beans-and-all Breakfast, sounds delicious. 

What's also delicious for the Sharks is that Ford has more than 100 English caps. 

The fly-half started for England against Australia in November. Ford is one of the best kickers in the competition.

Sale Was Founded In 1861. It Has Never Won A Champions Cup

The Sale Don't Call Us The Hollywoodbets Sharks have been around since 1999. 

But before they adopted the nickname, they were the Sale Football Club and launched in 1861. 

That's about 114 years before Stevey Spielberg made Jaws. 

In that time, Sale has never even made a Champions Cup Final, let alone win a title. The Sharks won the Challenge Cup twice and took the PREM Cup in 2020. 

Sale has a talented group, despite being in the middle of the Gallagher PREM table, and obviously has a lot of tradition.
