The 2025-2026 Investec Champions Cup begins Dec. 5, and we're just 24 days away from the Sale Sharks hosting the Glasgow Warriors at 3 p.m. ET at CorpAcq Stadium.

The Investec Champions Cup will determine the best team in Europe (and South Africa), as every contender aims to take the title from defending champion Union Bordeaux-Bègles of the Top 14.

But like in the film "The Highlander," there can only be one winner. 

Every club will enter the competition believing it can lift the trophy on May 23, 2026, at San Mamés Stadium in Bilbao, Spain.

And that includes Bath Rugby of Gallagher PREM Rugby. 

Here are three reasons why Bath Rugby can win the 2025-2026 Investec Champions Cup:

Bath Rugby Has Won Every Other Freaking Competition In The Last 12 Months

PREM Rugby Cup? Yep.

EPCR Challenge Cup? Of course.

Gallagher PREM Rugby Final? Lol, yes.

Bath Rugby is collecting European rugby infinity stones at this point. 

I have no idea what they’ll do once they have them all, but adding an Investec Champions Cup to the ledger is the last one. 

Bath already makes a strong case as the best club in the world — so why not make it official and win in Spain?

And Bath hasn't slowed down. 

The squad sits 4-0-1 so far in the Gallagher PREM Rugby standings. And it's only getting better. 

Fullback Santi Carreras, the Argentina Rugby star, left Gloucester Rugby to join Bath to give the team not one, but two, of the best kickers in the world.  

Bath Has The ‘Messi of Rugby’ In Finn Russell

Finn Alastair Russell — the “Messi of Rugby” — is one of the biggest rugby stars in the world. 

Whether he’s playing for Scotland, where he’s arguably the greatest Scottish rugby player ever (and has one of the thickest Scottish accents you’ll find this side of Sean Connery), or suiting up for the British and Irish Lions, Russell makes an impact every time he’s on the field.

But for a star of Russell’s caliber, his biggest accomplishments all have come within the past year. 

His most significant win outside of domestic league play was the EPCR Challenge Cup. 

He hasn’t led Scotland to a Six Nations title, hasn’t won a World Cup, didn’t win a Top 14 crown at Racing 92, nor a URC title (it wasn’t called that when he played there) with Glasgow. He may be due — and he and his club are playing great rugby.

PREM Rugby Is Due — And Bath Is One Of Its Best Chances

A French team has won every Investec Champions Cup since Exeter claimed the title in 2020, and you don’t need to be Edward III or Henry V to know that doesn’t sit well with the English clubs.

Bath Rugby — along with 2025 Champions Cup finalist Northampton — is one of the PREM’s best hopes to break the French stranglehold over European rugby.

Sure, Bath has a tough Round 1 match against Munster, and both matches against the Top 14 are in France, but Bath should be getting into the Round 16 with some ease.
