Harry Wilson Reunites With Former Wallabies Coach Eddie Jones At Tokyo Test
Australia captain Harry Wilson will reunite with former Wallabies coach Eddie Jones when the Wallabies face Japan’s Brave Blossoms in Tokyo on Oct. 25.
Australia captain Harry Wilson will reunite with former Wallabies head coach Eddie Jones — who excluded Wilson from the 2023 Rugby World Cup roster — in a faceoff against the Brave Blossoms in Tokyo on Saturday, Oct. 25.
Jones began his second coaching contract with Japan’s national rugby union team in 2024, reprising the role he held from 2012 to 2015.
Between his 2015-2022 tenure with England, and his current position in Japan, Jones spent one year coaching Australia.
That season led up to the 2023 Rugby World Cup, where Australia was knocked out early. The Wallabies won only pool games against Georgia and Portugal, marking a historic low for the team.

Jones’ decision to omit Wilson from the Australia lineup for the tournament in France was a tough blow.
According to Rugby365, Wilson said the disappointment made him a stronger and more resilient player. Still, his reunion with Jones is not at the forefront of his mind.
Now wearing the No. 8 jersey, Wilson captains the Wallabies as they prepare for the Autumn Nations Series in Europe. Saturday’s test in Tokyo will be key to building confidence and cohesion before the tour.
