Jimi Maximin’s last-gasp try lifted Pau over Toulouse 30-26, keeping Pau at the top of the Top 14 standings and earning FloRugby’s Club of the Week honors.
Pau just may be for real.
A week after Toulouse bashed Union Bordeaux-Bègles, the European giant went to Pau — or Section Paloise — and went home with a 30-26 loss on Saturday.
It’s the second straight week that Pau has lived at the top of the Top 14 table, but it’s the first week in which it came away with the outright points lead.
Pau now leads Bayonne 23-21 in the standings.

The win over Toulouse paved the way for Pau to capture this week’s Top 14 Club of the Week honors for FloRugby.
Replacement lock Jimi Maximin scored after the final hooter to lift Pau past Toulouse. The try capped Pau’s comeback and returned it to the league summit after briefly being overtaken by Bayonne.
Sebastien Piqueronies’ side trailed early but clawed back through persistent play and a bold late penalty-to-touch decision.
Toulouse slipped to third, earning only a losing bonus as Pau celebrated one of its biggest wins in club history.
