Edinburgh Rugby returns home to Hive Stadium on Friday looking to restart its season after the postponed opener against Ulster. 

The Scottish club makes three changes, highlighted by the return of double-centurion Grant Gilchrist, whose experience brings leadership to Sean Everitt’s forward pack.

Benetton makes key adjustments of its own, as Manuel Zuliani and Leonardo Marin return to the Italian lineup. 

The Treviso-based side has built a deep, international roster that already has shown balance and resilience early in the URC campaign.

Edinburgh head coach Sean Everitt said the team is eager to get back in front of its home crowd.

“We’re excited to be back at home after a false start with the postponed Ulster game,” Everitt said. “It had already felt like a long time since we’d been back with our fans, and now even more so – so we can’t wait to be playing in front of them again.”

Benetton head coach Calum MacRae expects an intense test in Edinburgh.

“We know that Edinburgh will be hungry and determined to deliver a strong performance in front of their home crowd,” MacRae said. “They’ve shown to be an extremely physical side, so we’ll need to be ready for the battle from the very first minute.”
