FloRugby's Professional Club Power Ranking | Oct. 15
FloRugby’s Power Rankings reveal which rugby clubs truly are in form, using results, opposition strength and consistency to show who’s playing the best.

Every week across the rugby world, results pour in from the URC, Premiership and Top 14, but wins and losses alone rarely tell the full story.
That’s where the FloRugby Power Rankings come in.
Designed to offer a truer reflection of form and performance, our rankings go beyond league tables to measure how each club is really playing right now. The system blends results, opposition strength, home-field context, and consistency across competitions to create a single, transparent view of global club rugby momentum.
Each team begins the season on equal footing, with ratings adjusted after every match based on expectation versus outcome.
Beating a heavyweight carries more value than brushing aside a struggler, while home and away results are judged differently to reflect the real-world impact of travel and venue advantage.

Crucially, the rankings don’t reward running up the score or subjective “style points.” Instead, they focus on reliability, the ability to win when it matters and perform above expectations against quality opposition.
A team’s recent run of form, opponent difficulty, and overall balance between attack and defense all play a part in shaping weekly movement.
Tiebreakers are settled simply: head-to-head results take priority, followed by adjusted ratings. No mystery, no bias, just a consistent, evidence-based reflection of where teams stand.
These rankings aren’t meant to mirror official standings or replace the thrill of the table race. They’re designed to cut through the noise and answer one key question: who’s playing the best rugby right now?
Each Wednesday, we update the model, review the weekend’s data and reveal which clubs are rising, which are falling and which have the numbers to back up their reputation.
Here is how our rankings shake out on Oct. 15, 2025.
1. Munster - 1,594 Points
One of three undefeated teams in the URC heading into Round 4.
Clayton McMillan’s Munster faces its biggest challenge against what is set to be a Lions-laden Leinster at Croke Park in Round 4.
Win that match, and the men in red suddenly become the team to beat in the URC.
2. Bath - 1,593 Points
Three from three to start the Prem, and it hasn’t really been close!
The reigning champions are so well balanced and welcomed back Finn Russell and Santiago Carreras to their team for the first time in Round 3.
Next up, is a clash with the Leicester Tigers, which will be another intriguing fixture to gauge how far ahead of the pack Bath really is this season.
3. DHL Stormers - 1,582 Points
Three from three, the Stormers backed up their dominant home wins over Leinster and the Ospreys with a pummeling of the Scarlets on the road.
Boarding a flight to Italy to face a vastly improved Zebre Parma match has the potential to be a banana peel-type fixture. That said, John Dobson’s side has shown nothing to indicate a drop-off is likely.
4. Pau - 1,569 Points
Blitzing last week’s No. 1 side, Bayonne, in Round 6 of the Top 14 has catapulted Pau into our top 4.
Now topping the table in French Rugby’s top division, Pau faces a huge test against reigning champion Toulouse in the marquee late Saturday match in Round 7.
Winning against the champions would be a huge statement by the men in green.
5. Stade Francais - 1,568 Points
Snatching a late victory, having let slip a decent lead late in the match against Stade Rochelais, the Parisian outfit continued its hot start to the season to be joint atop the Top 14 table with Toulouse and Pau.
6. Ulster - 1,565 Points
Having referenced potential statement wins in the upcoming round, Ulster Rugby delivered one last time out.
Physically dominating the Vodacom Bulls at home in Round 3, Ulster proved unequivocally how far it has come under head coach Richie Murphy.
Battering the powerful Bulls pack before shredding them out wide, Ulster once again proved that with its best team on the park, the squad is a match for anyone in the URC.
7. Northampton Saints - 1,555 Points
Winning the Midlands derby is always sweet, and Round 3 of the 2025-2026 Prem Season was no exception for the Saints.
Downing the Leicester Tigers 32-26 in a fiery fixture has seen Phil Dowson’s side climb up to second on the table.
Round 4 provides an opportunity to claim another bonus-point win when they travel to Newcastle to face the Red Bulls.
8. Castres - 1,552 Points
Three wins, three losses and seventh on the table, Castres is the prime meridian of the Top 14, and that somehow feels right.
Hosting Stade Francais in Round 7 is an opportunity to climb into the top 6 ahead of what will be a challenging away trip to Clermont in Round 8.
9. Racing 92 - 1,550 Points
Mirroring its cross-town rivals, Racing 92 has started the season strong with four wins and two losses.
Holding off a Montpellier side that has looked good at the start of the season was a big win for the Parisians.
Next up, is an away clash with Toulon, where any points on the road will be a good result.
10. Bayonne - 1,543 Points
Last week’s No. 1 side was roundly beaten by Pau, which sent them tumbling down both our rankings and the Top 14 table.
As ever, with French Rugby, there is no let-up with Clermont coming to town in the next round.
Bayonne is an interesting case study in how much the Champions Cup affects club resources.
Last season, Bayonne finished fourth and came within seven points of Toulouse in the semifinals, while playing in the Challenge Cup.
This season, Bayonne has a tough Champions Cup pool with the DHL Stormers, Harlequins, Leicester Tigers and Leinster Rugby.
How Bayonne manages this schedule will be a real indicator of how far the club has come.
11. Toulouse - 1,542 Points
Laid down a marker in a replay of last season’s final by battering UBB 56-13 last time out.
Really, Toulouse feels as though it's working its way into form with plenty of big matches still to come. That's a frightening thought for everyone in the Top 14 and Champions Cup.
12. Cardiff Rugby - 1,541 Points
Came out on top in a truly bizarre game against Connacht last time out.
Neither side wanted to attack, so they essentially kicked the leather off the ball.
Cardiff’s victory is solely down to two opportunistic tries by teenage sensation Tom Bowen.
Still, it is a great start to the season for the Welsh capital side.
13. Bristol Bears - 1,539 Points
Secured some key points by beating Exeter, despite being down several key players through injury.
14. Benetton - 1,533 Points
Ripped the Lions apart with winger Louis Lynagh scoring four tries and Ignacio Mendy running for over 200 meters.
Benetton is a scary prospect when it all clicks, and the team looks rejuvenated this season.
15. ASM Clermont Auvergne - 1527 Points
After beating Toulon comfortably to get back to 0.500, ASM Clermont Auvergne must sort out its road form if it is to be a top-6 side this season.
Round 7 presents a great opportunity to do so with a trip away to Bayonne.
16. Sale Sharks - 1,522 Points
Completely overwhelmed Newcastle in the opening match of Round 3 to prove that when they get dominance at set pieces, they can steamroll teams out wide.
Tom Roebuck was exceptional and looks every bit a contender for Steve Borthwick’s November squad.
17. Saracens - 1,522 Points
Came up short in the London derby but still had a few nice moments with Owen Farrell sending Fergus Burke on his way for a try.
18. Vodacom Bulls - 1,520 Points
Battered into submission by Ulster, the Bulls' defensive issues of the opening two rounds were brutally exposed when they couldn’t dominate up front.
Adding to their disappointment was a step back in a few key areas despite introducing a few Bok players into their lineup.
19. Toulon - 1,517 Points
Sucker punched by Clermont last time out, Toulon continued its yo-yo trick of looking like contenders one week and pretenders the next.
Still with a game in hand due to their postponed fixture with La Rochelle, they are right in the top-6 hunt.
20. Glasgow Warriors - 1,513 Points
Clearly angry with their loss to Benetton in round two, the poor old Dragons felt the brunt of the Warriors' frustrations in Round 3.
When they get front foot ball, the Warriors are close to unstoppable, particularly across their backline.
21. Zebre - 1,504 Points
22. Lyon - 1,503 Points
23. Connacht - 1,497 Points
24. Ospreys - 1,495 Points
25. Exeter Chiefs - 1,490 Points
26. Montpellier - 1,487 Points
27. Leinster - 1,484 Points
28. Bordeaux Bègles - 1,482 Points
29. Harlequins - 1,479 Points
30. Leicester Tigers - 1,475 Points
31. Edinburgh - 1,455 Points
32. La Rochelle - 1,453 Points
33. Dragons - 1,440 Points
34. Scarlets - 1,436 Points
35. Durban Sharks - 1,430 Points
36. Johannesburg Lions - 1,422 Points
37. Gloucester - 1,422 Points
38. Newcastle Red Bulls - 1,403 Points
39. Montauban - 1,375 Points
40. Perpignan - 1,348 Points
