Bayonne Stuns Toulouse; Earns Top 14 Club Of The Week, Again
Bayonne beat defending champion Toulouse 40-26 in Round 5 to stay in first place in the Top 14 and earn back-to-back Club of the Week honors.
Bayonne cemented its place atop the Top 14 standings with a rousing 40-26 victory over reigning champion Toulouse in Round 5, earning back-to-back “Club of the Week” honors after another statement performance at Stade Jean Dauger.
Trailing midway through the second half, Bayonne erupted for five tries and overpowered Toulouse down the stretch.

Arthur Iturria, Baptiste Germain, Esteban Capilla, Cheikh Tiberghien and Tom Spring each crossed the line, while fly-half Joris Segonds controlled territory and tempo with precise kicking.
Manu Tuilagi’s physicality and leadership helped turn the tide after the break as the Basques erased a narrow deficit and pulled clear late.
Toulouse led behind tries from Matthis Lebel, Théo Ntamack and Georges-Henri Colombe, but inconsistent goal-kicking from Romain Ntamack and Thomas Ramos proved costly.
A pair of second-half misses kept Bayonne within reach, before a burst of energy from the replacements sealed the home side’s fourth win in five matches.
The result pushed Bayonne to the top of the table at 16 points, leapfrogging Stade Français and Toulon, and underscored the team's transformation from mid-table challenger into genuine contender.
