Founded in 2012 out of the long-standing invitational side Zebre, the Parma-based team represents a broad northern Italian rugby community. While they have never finished higher than mid-table, Zebre have built a reputation for giving prospects like Alessandro Fusco, Simone Gesi, and Jacopo Trulla valuable experience. Despite team struggles, wing Simone Gesi shined as one of the URC’s top five in clean breaks. His pace and ability to beat defenders give Zebre a dangerous counterattacking weapon. Building their game plan around his speed could help turn narrow losses into competitive contests.

Set Piece Remains A Work In Progress

Zebre’s scrum held steady at 92% success, but lineouts were problematic, ranking 15th in the league with an 82% success rate. Without a reliable platform, it was difficult to sustain attacking momentum. Sharpening execution in these core areas is essential for growth.
