Munster Rugby enter the 2025–26 United Rugby Championship season with unfinished business after coming up short in the quarterfinals last year. The Limerick side fell 25–24 to the Hollywoodbets Sharks in Durban, a heartbreaking one-point loss that ended their campaign. 

Munster finished the regular season with 10 wins and 55 points, good for sixth place, but the playoff exit underscored the fine margins in the URC. With a deep squad and proud tradition, they aim to turn narrow defeats into championship contention.

Founded in 1879, Munster are one of European rugby’s most celebrated clubs. They have three URC titles and two European Cups, with Thomond Park standing as one of the most iconic rugby venues in the world. Their passionate fan base and history of producing Ireland internationals have made them a cornerstone of Irish rugby. Statistically, Munster’s 468 points and 70 tries placed them mid-table in attack. In defense, an 80 percent tackle success rate highlighted their resilience, but 180 penalties conceded exposed a discipline issue that cost them in tight games. These figures reflect a competitive team that still needs greater consistency to match the league’s elite.
