Union Bordeaux Bègles has reclaimed the No. 1 spot in FloRugby’s global rankings of the top 25 rugby clubs, following a dominant performance that sealed Vannes’ relegation from France’s Top 14.

With a Champions Cup triumph and rivals such as Stade Toulousain battling key injuries, UBB appears poised for a serious run at the domestic title.

Leinster Rugby, back in form with a clinical URC semifinal win, climbed to No. 2 and now faces a familiar nemesis in the Vodacom Bulls.

Stade Toulousain, despite an injury crisis that includes star backs Antoine Dupont and Ange Capuozzo, remains a top-3 side, thanks to its squad depth and recent return of Blair Kinghorn.

England’s Bath Rugby surged to fourth after overpowering Bristol to reach the Premiership final, while the Crusaders, perennial Super Rugby contenders, round out the top 5 after a commanding win over the Reds.

The rest of the list features a mix of powerhouses and rising clubs from the URC, Premiership, Top 14 and Super Rugby, reflecting a dynamic global landscape.

Highlights include the Brumbies’ revenge win over the Hurricanes, Glasgow’s rollercoaster season and Leicester’s gritty playoff push.

FloRugby’s June 11 rankings consider form, playoff positioning and key wins, plus several other factors, such as elite clubs vie for silverware.

From European giants to Southern Hemisphere juggernauts, this list provides a pulse on rugby’s global balance of power heading into a summer of decisive action.

1. Union Bordeaux Bègles | 25-9-0

Surging back to the top spot on our power rankings courtesy of a dominant display that confirmed Vannes’ relegation from the Top 14.

Taking into account the injury crisis facing Stade Toulousain and UBB’s confidence from winning the Champions Cup, UBB now is primed for a run at the Top 14 title.

2. Leinster Rugby | 24-3-0

Putting out its best performance since meeting with the Warriors in the Champions Cup quarterfinals, Leinster appeared to be all the way back in the URC semifinal.

Next up, is a far stiffer challenge against an ultra-physical Bulls’ side that has been Leinster's bogey team over the past few seasons.

3. Stade Toulousain | 25-7-1

Losing Ange Capuozzo for the season was a brutal blow to Stade Toulousain’s title defense hopes.

The Italian star joins Antoine Dupont and Peato Mauvaka on the sidelines.

On a more positive note, British and Irish Lions star Blair Kinghorn has returned from his knee injury and will be a direct replacement for Capuozzo.

4. Bath Rugby | 20-7-0

Now just 80 minutes and some change away from claiming a third trophy this season, Johann van Graan’s Bath team knows the next match is its  biggest this season.

Overcoming a strong opening half by rival Bristol to book its place in the Premiership final, Bath’s bench brought a bomb squad-like impact.

Standing in Bath's way of the ultimate glory is a Leicester Tigers side that came through a major scrap with the Sale Sharks.

5. Crusaders | 12-3-0

Cruising past the Reds in third gear, Super Rugby’s perennial big dogs looked impervious from the first whistle.

Given Super Rugby’s bizarre format this season, their win, coupled with the Chiefs' loss in any other season, would’ve meant they would be top seeds.

Instead, they remain locked in as second seeds, with the Chiefs ‘the lucky winners,’ following their loss to the Blues still being the top team in the competition…

6. Vodacom Bulls | 18-8-0

Powering their way to a third URC final in four seasons, the Bulls now face their stiffest challenge against a locked-and-loaded Leinster side at Croke Park.

Despite conceding the bulk of territory and possession to the Sharks, the Bulls manhandled their coastal rivals in the semifinal.

Given their run of luck in the final, Saturday’s clash is crucial to Jake White’s side’s development from almost-rans to champions.

7. Northampton Saints | 14-12-0

Progressively sliding down the rankings due to the knockout bonus points kicking in for teams around them, the Champions Cup runners-up will be frustrated that they couldn’t put together enough consistency to defend their Premiership crown.

Still, their Cup run was a magnificent achievement, given the age profile of the squad.

8. Brumbies | 10-5-0

Getting one back on the Hurricanes, having lost to them earlier in the season, the Brumbies were mightily impressive in the quarterfinals.

Despite securing the win, they now have to hit the road to face the Chiefs in Hamilton.

Taking into account the Chiefs’ loss to the Blues, the win certainly is there for the taking, if the Brumbies can execute.

9. Chiefs | 11-4-0

Counting their lucky stars that they are playing in a competition with the most nonsensical playoff form in professional sport, the Super Rugby regular-season table toppers will nonetheless be frustrated they allowed the Blues to disrupt their game to the extent they did.

Against the Brumbies, a similar result will be incoming, if they don’t get their attacking game flowing.

10. Glasgow Warriors | 15-10-0

Absolutely drilled once again by Leinster, the Warriors ended their season on a down note.

Heading into the fixture, there was optimism that they could turn the tables following an impressive showing against the Stormers. In truth this match was the same as an Ireland vs. Scotland match, where the Leinster pack bullied the Warriors.

Franco Smith’s squad deserve plaudits for an overall positive season, but their dip in form as the season tailed off will frustrate them.

11. Bayonne | 18-12-1

Proving unequivocally that it belongs near the top of the table, Bayonne knuckled down and saw off Toulon in a do-or-die fixture.

While Bayonne won’t want the dream to end next time out, this season already has been a massive success.

Hosting Clermont in the quarterfinal won’t be easy, but Bayonne deserves to be considered the favorite.

12. Hollywoodbets Sharks | 15-9-0

Losing Eben Etzebeth and Jason Jenkins for the semifinal was a huge blow for the Sharks, who were overpowered by the Bulls.

Yet, one can’t help but feel their issues run deeper, given how inconsistent they have been throughout the season, despite a stacked squad.

Reinforcements are incoming for next season, but ultimately, there is something amiss, and it doesn’t feel like player talent.

13. Leicester Tigers | 14-8-1

Another Premiership final is incoming for one of English Rugby’s most decorated clubs.

Knowing they will be heavy underdogs will only add to their motivation, and that no doubt will be the message Michael Cheika and his coaching staff are pushing all week.

It will take a mighty effort against a potent Bath side, but the Tigers are blessed with several big-match operators, so they are far from being written off.

14. Blues Rugby | 7-8-0

Champion teams stand up when it matters most, and the reigning Super Rugby kings did just that.

Turning the tide on their season-long rivalry with the Chiefs, the Blues clearly got in their Hamilton-based rivals’ heads.

If they can do the same this week against the Crusaders, they will back themselves to go all the way in what will be one of the biggest turnarounds in the competition’s history.

15. Sale Sharks | 14-9-0

Coming agonizingly short in their quest to get back to the big game, the Sharks are just a tick or two away from being serious contenders.

Since the departure of Manu Tuilagi, Alex Sanderson’s side has lacked an impact carrier in the back line.

Someone who can make it over the gainline time and again should be at the top of their shopping list.

16. Castres Olympique | 15-13-2

Backing their way into the knockout rounds courtesy of a no-show by Stade Rochelais in the final round, Castres now travels to face a Toulon side that is on a five-match losing streak.

This opportunity should be too good for Castres to pass up, so we expect the squad to come out swinging next time out.

17. Hurricanes | 8-6-1

Coming up one try short against the Brumbies was a cruel way to bow out.

Had it not been for the Blues pulling off the upset, the Canes would’ve been playing this weekend.

Still, it has been a positive season for the Wellington side, given its progression throughout the second half of the competition.

18. RC Toulon | 18-14-0

Five losses on the bounce is about as bad as it gets heading into the knockout stages.

Still, RCT has so many top-quality players in its squad that a big performance is never too far away.

Against Castres, Toulon will need to be right on its game to progress, but one has to feel a clash against UBB or Stade Toulousain feels a step too far for RCT in the semifinals.

19. Bristol Bears | 11-12-0

Forty minutes away from pulling off the upset of the season in the Premiership, Pat Lam’s Bears had the perfect tactics in the first half at the Rec.

Unfortunately for them, they didn’t have the depth on the bench to close it out.

Nevertheless, making the semifinals was a positive, albeit their Champions Cup journey was a disaster.

20. Queensland Reds | 8-7-0

Despite quite a bit of positive chat coming out of Australia ahead of their trip to Christchurch, the Reds were miles off the pace.

Overall, this will have been a frustrating season for Les Kiss; however, from a Wallabies standpoint, a number of players took major strides forward.

21. ASM Clermont | 15-15-0

Bounding its way into the knockout stages courtesy of back-to-back big wins, ASM Clermont will be unafraid of facing Bayonne next time out.

Sure, it is on the road; however, the club is more accustomed to this part of the season than its rivals. This one will make for great viewing.

22. Munster Rugby | 12-13-0

Denied a place in the semifinals courtesy of a wild penalty shootout against the Sharks, Munster’s season is a tough one to assess.

The highs of beating La Rochelle on the road and the lows of losing to Zebre all needed to be taken into account.

Overall, the Munstermen should be a lot better next season under the tutelage of Clayton McMillan - and with a healthier squad - plus a few key rumored recruits being lined up.

23. Edinburgh Rugby | 13-12-1

On the whole, it was a very positive season for Edinburgh, which was a Bath loss away from an EPCR Challenge Cup final appearance and nearly overturned the Bulls on the road in the URC quarterfinals.

Edinburgh's ascension is a huge development for Scottish Rugby as a whole, and we expect the squad to kick on next season with Champions Cup Rugby returning to the Scottish capital.

24. Scarlets | 11-12-1

Similar to Edinburgh, this season was a big step forward for both Scarlets and Welsh Rugby.

Pushing Leinster on the road in the URC quarterfinals and securing Champions Cup Rugby will have been the team's big goals, and those were achieved.

Taking a moment to acknowledge the work Dwayne Peel has put in is worthwhile, given the challenges the Welsh regions have faced, could he be a future Wales coach? Absolutely.

25. La Rochelle | 14-15-1

In stark contrast to the two sides ranked above, this was a bitterly disappointing season for the two-time European Champions.

Being dumped out of the Champions Cup at home by Munster, and then out of the Top 14 knockout rounds by Pau, is a poor return.

Acknowledging his club’s failings, head coach Ronan O’Gara took full responsibility when speaking post the Pau loss.

Overall, this will have been regarded as a season of transition for Stade Rochelais, which already has signed, or is rumored to be signing, some of the best young talent in pro rugby, namely Nolann le Gerrac, Tomasso Menoncello and Davit Niniashvil.
