The Black Ferns have entered this season as fierce as ever, hoping to repeat their Women's World Cup victory from four years ago.
They already have one win over Australia and a draw against No. 2-ranked Canada, and they will enter their game against the USA as the favorites.
Looking to find their footing in the Pacific Four Series, the Women's Eagles have not yet won a match, losing to Canada and Australia to start the season.
New Zealand historically has dominated the charts against USA, outscoring the Eagles 660-51 across 15 test matches.
The only time the Women's Eagles defeated the Black Ferns came over three decades ago, and it happened to be at the first Women's Rugby World Cup.
The Last Time USA Women's Rugby Beat The New Zealand Black Ferns
While the early 1990s featured hits from MC Hammer, New Kids on the Block, LL Cool J, television screens posted with Full House or the Fresh Prince of Belair in the United States, Europe was preparing for the 1991 Women's Rugby World Cup semifinals.
In Cardiff, Wales, the stage was set for the USA Women's Eagles to take on the New Zealand Black Ferns in the inaugural Women's Rugby World Cup.
Both USA and New Zealand paved their way to the top of their respective pools.
A total of 12 teams competed, divided into four pools of three teams. England and France faced off in the other semifinal.
Although it was not the most glamorous game, the Women's Eagles powered over the Black Ferns with a 7-0 win to advance to the final. From there, the USA went on to become the World Cup champion with a 19-6 victory over England.
