Born June 16, 2003, in La Tronche, France, Bielle-Biarrey is of Réunionese descent through his mother.
He took up rugby at age 5 in Seyssins, near Grenoble, and later joined FC Grenoble’s academy at 13, where he developed from 2016 to 2021. In 2021, he signed with Bordeaux Bègles and made an immediate impact.
Bielle-Biarrey burst onto the European stage in January 2022, scoring a sensational hat trick on his Champions Cup debut against Scarlets.
Fast forward to May 2025, and he was at it again — scoring twice in Bordeaux’s 35-18 semifinal triumph over defending champion Toulouse to secure the club’s first European final berth.
On the international stage, Bielle-Biarrey’s meteoric rise has been just as dazzling.
He made his senior France debut in August 2023 in a World Cup warm-up against Scotland. He went on to score in that match and added four more tries during France’s World Cup campaign.
His true breakout came in the 2025 Guinness Six Nations.
Bielle-Biarrey scored a record eight tries in the tournament, including a brace against both Wales and England, a crucial try versus Italy and a breathtaking double in a statement win over Ireland in Dublin.
His consistency and flair earned him the Six Nations Player of the Championship award, making him only the second Frenchman, after Antoine Dupont, to receive the honor.
Stuart Barnes, writing in The Sunday Times, called Bielle-Biarrey “a predator,” highlighting his “cold-blooded” finishing and a gravity-defying somersault try in the Champions Cup semifinal as evidence of his rare instincts.
"There was, quite literally, nothing to tackle," Barnes wrote, noting the acrobatic yet clinical nature of Bielle-Biarrey’s scoring.
Now with 18 tries in 19 tests, the Bordeaux flyer arrives in Cardiff as the man to watch. His speed, spatial awareness, and composure under pressure have made him a nightmare for defenses and a dream for highlight reels.
Despite the accolades, Bielle-Biarrey remains grounded.
“I’m very happy to have won this trophy and that the fans voted massively for me,” he said after receiving the Six Nations award. “It’s a great reward for all the hard work from the French team.”
Whether sprinting from deep or flying over the line, Bielle-Biarrey has made scoring look inevitable. On May 24, he’ll be hoping to add another historic chapter to an already remarkable young career.
