The Scottish star is the definition of a Cinderella story, going from chipping blocks of stone to build walls, to commanding one of the highest salaries in rugby.
The fly-half made his international debut for Scotland rugby in 2014. After debuting with Glasgow Warriors in 2013, he left for Racing 92 in 2018, making 105 appearances for the French club before departing for Bath Rugby in 2023.

Finn Russell Was A Stonemason
At this point, this is part of the Finn Russell lore, but before he became a household name in rugby, Russell was honing his craft in stonemasonry.
Russell's plan was to apprentice for a stonemason, and had done so for three years after secondary school.
His big break came in 2012, when he was picked to play for Scotland at the World Rugby U20 Championships. He quickly scaled through lower-league teams, before playing first-team with the Glasgow Warriors in 2013-2014.
Russell Made His Scotland Debut Against the United States
Russell’s international career began when he made his Scotland debut against the United States during a match in Houston.
Since then, the fly-half has accumulated 400+ points and 87 caps. He has played in 11 Six Nations for his country and represented the Thistle at three World Cups.
