La Rochelle Rugby, or Stade Rochelais, hopes to have to a strong bounce back year after falling short of its 2023-2024 expectations. 

Ravaged by injuries to its top players like Will Skelton, La Rochelle struggled through Top 14 and Champions Cup seasons, going 13-1-12 in Top 14 and losing to Leinster 40-13 the quarterfinals of the Investec Champions Cup.

La Rochelle reached the semifinals of the Top 14 playoffs before losing to eventual champion Toulouse, 39-23. 

But the summer break has likely been good for La Rochelle, who won back-to-back Champions Cup titles in 2022 and 2023. The club’s Top 14 season begins on Sept. 8  against RC Toulon at 11 a.m. ET.
