Shaw's commitment comes on the heels of a Buckeye commitment from Vince Bouzakis, another middle weight who's ranked #15 in this year's junior class. Bouzakis was the first Columbus commit in the class, but now Ohio State appears to have the recruiting ball rolling.
Ohio State has put together strong recruiting classes for the last several years. Now Shaw and Bouzakis are their first two commits in the class of 2025. Their 2024 class is currently ranked #4, their 2023 class was ranked #6, and their 2022 class was ranked #1.
Both Bouzakis and Shaw will bolster the Buckeyes' firepower in the middle weights. Shaw could enter the lineup at 149 lbs while Bouzakis might land at 157 lbs or 165 lbs.
