Major League Rugby's San Diego Legion secured the signature of USA international Greg Peterson from the United Rugby Championship's Glasgow Warriors.

Peterson signed with San Diego following a short-term contract with the Warriors.

The 32-year-old rekindled his connection with the Warriors in October 2023, courtesy of a short-term contract facilitated by head coach Franco Smith.

The return marked Peterson's second stint with the club, having first graced the Scotstoun pitch during the 2015-2016 season. His earlier tenure saw him contribute to the Warriors' cause with an impressive 32 appearances over three years.

Hailing from Sydney, Australia, the seasoned second-rower boasts a diverse rugby resume, having plied his trade with the Bordeaux-Begles and Leicester Tigers.

Additionally, Peterson made a significant impact during his 75 appearances with the Newcastle Falcons.

His international prowess is underscored by representing the USA in the 2015 and 2019 Rugby World Cups, with a noteworthy captaincy of the USA Eagles in a triumphant friendly clash against formidable French opponent Toulouse in September 2023.

Making a memorable second Scotstoun debut in October 2023, Peterson played a pivotal role, orchestrating the scoring pass to George Horne, contributing to Glasgow's decisive 43-25 victory over Leinster.

With Peterson's signing, the Legion has secured an experienced leader and physically dominant lock to anchor their pack.
