La Rochelle rose to the occasion at the 2023 Heineken Championship Final. The highly anticipated match featured Leinster Rugby facing off against La Rochelle for the second time at Aviva stadium. 

La Rochelle beat the odds with a 27-26 final score. The defending champions earned their second consecutive win in the Heineken Champion Cup Final. They are the first team to achieve a back to back win since Sarcanens in 2016 and 2017. 

Leading up to the match, Leinster was expected to take back their title as champion, but La Rochelle was not going down without a fight. After an epic start to the game, Dan Sheen’s 1-minute try set a tone for a high stakes game. La Rochelle proved their position as champion with a fast turn around by the second half of the game.
