Who's Up, Who's Down This Week In Rugby
A week can make a lot of difference: One week you're not sure how it all will pan out, and the next you're on top of the rugby world.

Here are our look at who's up, and down, and in the middle, too, this week.

Who's Up

BYU
After failing to get the votes to join the Rocky Mountain Conference in D1A, the Cougars got a second bite at the antelope thanks to the fact that Utah was told it had to choose between being a member of the PAC or RMC. The Utes settled on the PAC, and BYU got a second vote. Now, the Cougars are an associate member of the Rocky Mountain.

Devin Short
How about you answer a social media ad to try out as an "Olympic Hopeful" and you hope to all that is holy that this isn't a scam. Surprise! It's not a scam. In fact, it's a real thing, and you get to train with the USA 7s team for three months. That's Devin Short.

Peter Malcolm's Truth
The USA hooker called out his alma mater, Wheeling Jesuit, for basically sabotaging the school's rugby program in favor of starting a new football program.

Iona College
Well Iona started its season with a game against St. Joseph's and won 47-8, with sophomore Santi Mascolo scoring 17 points and Michael Marro and John Powers-Velasquez both adding two. There's more to say about these guys, but right now, how about putting up 47 points against St. Joe's?

Who's Up And Down... Or Sort Of In The Middle

USA Women's National Team
More, the Eagles were up and then down. After winning their first two games at the World Cup, the USA women's national team lost three straight. These were three straight losses to three excellent teams, but still, we know now (OK, we already knew) the Eagles still have a ways to go. Their early arrival in Ireland, however, helped a strong start which got them to the semis.

Who's Down

University of Vermont
The Catamounts have no conference to play in, and they want to play in one. Right now, they'll settle for a few more games, so anyone with a free weekend should check them out.

Southeast Texas
The remnants of Hurricane Harvey that are still dumping water on the Gulf Coast have been devastating. The rugby community in the region is trying to help.
