Seattle Saracens Press Release -- The Seattle Saracens Rugby Club has announced that the 2017-18 season will see the formation of the Seattle Saracens Development 15s program.

This new development program and team is directed toward young players and will act as a transition from youth rugby to senior rugby. The program will not only develop players to play for the Seattle Saracens club but also for other clubs that are partnered with the Seattle Saracens.

The development squad will compete against senior and collegiate teams in the Pacific Northwest and provide additional rugby opportunities for players and clubs in the region. The development team management will work with its partner clubs to ensure more people can play rugby on a regular basis.

The formation of this program will build stronger relationships with youth programs in the area and provide opportunities for these players to develop and grow on and off the pitch in a rugby rich environment. In turn, the Seattle Saracens believe that providing more games to local players and clubs will ultimately help raise the level of competition in the area.

"We have wanted a program like this for many years, and we are now ready to implement one," Seattle Saracens president Kevin Flynn said. "With the help and input of other local clubs, our goal is to be able to ensure more people are playing rugby on a weekly basis. The club is committed to not only providing more rugby but also to promote rugby values and club culture through participation in our community programs. We believe this will help players grow and mature both in their game and in their day-to-day life."
