It was a wild finish in the Cape Fear 7s in Cape Fear, NC, one of the oldest and most-loved senior 7s tournaments in the country.

Old Toe won the team's second straight Men's Elite championship, but it wasn't without drama, as Charlotte led 17-7 late and Old Toe needed three second-half tries, including one from Lemeki Tulele on the final play, to win it.

Scion defeated NOVA in the Women's Elite final, and that was a close one, too, 19-12. Just as Old Toe repeated in the Men's Elite, so the Virginia Cardinals repeated in the Men's Club division, beating Star Spangled Hammered 24-12. The Hustlers out of Raleigh, NC, won the Women's Club final over NOVA 2. TRIAD out of Greensboro, NC, and Chapel Hill (NC) won the Men's and Women's social divisions, respectively.
