High School rugby leagues in Texas, Colorado, Utah, North Carolina, Maryland, and Tennessee

HS Rugby Playoffs! Around the Country As States Begin States
State high school rugby playoffs are kicking off all over the country.
 

Texas

The Rugby Texas championships will be decided this weekend.

FloRugby will live-stream the final matches of the girls sevens. Eight teams face off in two pools of four. Each team plays three pool games, and the pool winners go on to the final. The second-place teams play for the Plate, thirds for the Bowl, and fourths for the Shield. It's a tight group, with Plano, HEB, and The Woodlands all with essentially the same record for the season.

The Boys 15s championships feature The Woodlands, Westlake, Dallas Harlequins Colts, and Cy Fair.

California

The Northern California finals are set, with Jesuit facing Danville in the Premier Final and SacPD against Land Park in the girls final. In Southern California, the San Diego Mustangs won a midweek clash with the Coastal Dragons 30-27 to set up a Saturday semifinal with the tough Irvine Rhinos. Belmont Shore faces Back Bay in the other semi.

Delaware

Salesianum and Archemere play in the state final this weekend.


Maryland

Maryland's state playoffs are down to two, with the new Bethesda Roosters against a new-look Maryland Exiles. In the MAVRC single-school league will start their semis next week.

Tennessee

The Tennessee state playoffs are also set, with Boys and Girls selecting a champion.

North Carolina

North Carolina has its playoffs kicking off, with the Charlotte Tigers playing Charlotte Catholic in one semi and the Union County Lions facing the Raleigh Rattlesnakes in the other in the Open Division. 

In single school, Friday sees 9-0 Hough face the Myers Park Mustangs in the final.

Oklahoma

Union (7-0) hosts Jenks (4-2) , and Bixby (3-2-1) is at Yukon (4-1-1). 

Colorado

Colorado enters the state quarterfinals. These are usually a bit one-sided for the top seeds, but No. 4 versus No. 5 is usually a battle.

No. 2 Palmer vs. No. 7 Aurora
No. 3 Monarch vs. No. 6 PAC 
No.4 Regis Jesuit vs. No. 5 Colorado Springs

Utah

Utah starts its playoffs this weekend, with the top-finishing teams getting a bye to next week's semis.

In the single-school playoffs, Olympus plays East for the right to play Herriman on May 13. Highland plays Westlake for the right to face Snow Canyon on May 13.

In the high school club bracket, Provo faces Kau Toa for the right to play the powerful West Valley Warriors. West Jordan takes on United for the chance to play Genesis.

In the girls bracket, Snow Canyon plays Herriman for the chance to face United, which earned a bye,. Provo and Kau Toa have a bye to a semifinals, where they face each other May 13.
