College Freshman Of The Week: Kat Stowers, BYU
Kat Stowers has not slowed down since she jumped from high school to college.
The last time we saw Kat Stowers she was wowing fans at the NAI 7s, leading the Grey Wolves to a Girls Elite title. Now she's doing the same for BYU.
The Cougars won this past week against Utah State and have been powering through their early-season opposition, with some young talent sparking the success. Stowers, who can play scrumhalf or center, has been a big part of that.

Recruited by Lindenwood, Stowers opted to stay in her home state of Utah for college, and BYU head coach Tom Waqa is very happy with that decision.
"She has got lots of experience, having played rugby since she was a freshman in high school," Waqa said. "Playing with United and the Utah Lions select side program, she has developed good skills, and she reads the game really well."
Next up for BYU is a road test at New Mexico this Saturday and later this spring a chance to play for a D1 Elite championship. The Cougars will need all of that experience and skills — and more.
