One More To Join D1A Rugby?
Who's in D1A?

That's a good question. Right now, the number of teams in the top level of men's college competition is 69, and it's likely to be 70 before this week is out.

Eight conferences currently are designated D1A -- Big Ten, California, Rugby East, Mid-South, PAC, Red River, Rocky Mountain, and Liberty. Utah Valley University and BYU play in the Rocky Mountain as associate members but won't be tracked in the standings. In addition, Grand Canyon University and Navy are listed as Independent D1A teams and play non-conference schedules that will be tracked to help rank them.

One more independent team will be named this week to join the list and make it 70 teams in the D1A. Which one? Well, we can't say, but you might guess as it's a team not in a conference right now and a team that is somewhat isolated, which means the program has plenty of schedule flexibility.
