Army sits atop the Rugby East after winning fairly comfortably 57-20 over Wheeling Jesuit on Saturday in West Point, NY.

The big news about that game, perhaps, is that WJU, despite graduating its best players and seeing several more transfer after yet another coaching change, scored 20 against the Black Knights. In fact, Army only held a 19-15 lead after 24 minutes. Nathan Williams scored two for Army, while Nathan Brooks, Mitchell Sanderson, James Mbony, Will Miller, Chris L'Amereux, Harrison Farrell, and Raaqin Rispress all touched down.

Kutztown slammed visiting St. Bonaventure 69-17, but that, too, was a game that was close early. The score was 28-17 at halftime.

"They were better than we were in the contact area, and we committed a lot of penalties," KU head coach Gregg Jones said. "They spread the ball well and looked very good."

Following the break, the host Golden Bears fixed their early penalties in the breakdown, and sophomores Brandon Boon and Dmontae Noble both scored three tries to break it open in the second half.

Meanwhile, Penn State won a massive 43-17 result over a highly touted Notre Dame College on the road. NDC played without Marcus Tupuola, who was playing with the All-Americans against Oxford University on Saturday. The Nittany Lions exploded out of the blocks, taking advantage of yellow cards called on Notre Dame College and getting tries from wing Mike Eife and freshman front-rower Anthony Adamcheck. Lock/flanker Ryan McNulty's second try staked the Lions to a 26-5 halftime lead.

NDC inched closer with two tries in the second half before flyhalf Mike Dabulas and Eife touched down.

Buffalo played a non-conference game at Davenport and fell 44-22, a scoreline that wasn't exactly bad news for UB.
