As the MA Sorensen Award gets set to be given officially on Saturday, we at FloRugby are looking at the major impact women's college rugby players from this past season.

Ilona Maher has already been named the winner of the MA Sorensen Award as the nation's top women's college rugby player, but we've got some more athletes to recognize.

Maher won for being a dominant figure at center for the Quinnipiac Bobcats as they won the NIRA championship (the national competition among NCAA varsity teams). Maher is a special athlete who is also an excellent student and a student of the game. But there have been a large number of outstanding performances this season.

Here are the other players who deserve recognition:

Forwards

Darian Lovelace, Life; Azniv Nalbandian, Penn State; Joycelyn Fordyce, Air Force; Brenna Donahue, Davenport, Bridget Kahele, AIC; Kyle Chipman, Penn State, Rebekah Hebdon, BYU; Leah McFarland, Air Force; Carrie Vaillancourt, Central Washington; Veronica Overbeek, Davenport; Jennifer Johnson, Central Washington; Kayla Clark, AIC; Claire Collins, Harvard, Sydney Dossett, Army; Sheila Decker, Norwich; Michel Navarro, Central Washington; Vic Olchowoj, Norwich; Gio Ferguon-Lewis, Army; Sheila Decker, Norwich

Backs

Nicole McCullough, BYU; Asinate Serevi, Central Washington; Cassidy Meyers, Central Washington; Francesca Sands, Dartmouth; Kaitlyn Broughton, Life; Richelle Stephens, LindenwoodDanielle Walko Siua, Notre Dame College; Tess Feury, Penn State; Gabby Cantorna, Penn State; Sydnee Watanabe, UC Davis; Jacqueline Edge, Central Florida; Danielle Ordway, Davenport; Madison Sparks, Davenport; Hannah Gauthreaux, Lindenwood; Suiluana A'au, Central Washington; Zye Crittington, Army; Oksana Goretaya, Brown; Mason Johnson, Quinnipiac; Flora Poole, Quinnipiac; Kat Ramage, Dartmouth; Kelsi O'Brien, Air Force

Of these players, Penn State's Nalbandian and Feury have been especially strong, and since Maher can play both center and No. 8, she could be listed as a top forward or a top back. Thus, Nalbandian at prop and Feury at fullback would be FloRugby's 1A picks.
